Event & Editorial Photographer (Contract)

Location: Toronto, ON
Type: Project-Based
Schedule: January 2026 (primary event) + potential ongoing corporate assignments

About the Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced Event & Editorial Photographer to capture high-quality imagery for a leading global financial organization. This role will focus primarily on a large-scale corporate event in Toronto (January 2026), with potential for ongoing work covering office events, headshots, and candid editorial photography throughout the year.

You’ll play an integral role in visually documenting our client’s events, leadership, and culture through polished, professional imagery that aligns with the brand’s standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Photograph a large-scale corporate event (approx. 1,200 attendees) held in Toronto, capturing:

    • On-stage action shots of speakers and panelists.

    • Group photos of Portfolio Managers, moderators, and announcers.

    • Candid and behind-the-scenes moments that reflect the energy and professionalism of the event.

  • Provide editorial-style coverage for additional in-office events, employee gatherings, and headshots as needed throughout the year.

  • Deliver a full gallery of raw images for client selection, then retouch selected images (approx. 3-4 per subject).

  • Ensure all final photos are high-resolution, suitable for print and digital use.

  • Work efficiently in low-light environments (long-lens photography required; access to stage area is limited).

  • Maintain professionalism and discretion when photographing senior executives and large audiences.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience photographing corporate events, conferences, or large-scale gatherings.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a blend of editorial, event, and candid photography.

  • Expertise in capturing dynamic, in-the-moment images that reflect authenticity and brand tone.

  • Experience with stage and theatre lighting, including comfort using a long lens for distance shots.

  • Ability to manage and edit high volumes of images while maintaining consistency and quality.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills — reliable, responsive, and detail-oriented.

  • Access to professional-grade equipment and editing software (Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.).

  • Willingness to collaborate and adapt to evolving creative direction.

Deliverables & Workflow

  • Upload all raw photos for client review following the event.

  • Retouch a curated selection of images chosen by the client.

  • Deliver high-resolution final images via secure file-sharing link.

Logistics

  • Equipment: Photographer to provide all necessary gear, including long-lens capabilities for stage coverage.

Additional Details

  • Toronto-based coverage in January 2026, with the potential for additional projects throughout the year.

  • The ideal photographer will serve as a trusted creative partner for recurring events and corporate storytelling initiatives.
