Senior Designer (AI) – Startup or Agency

Location: Calgary, AB (Onsite, 5 days/week)
Type: Full-Time

A rapidly expanding fintech organization is looking for a multi-disciplinary Senior Designer to play a leading role in building and rolling out new brands across a diverse portfolio of businesses, while leveraging AI along the way. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves shaping visual identities from the ground up and thrives in fast-moving, startup-style environments.

You’ll join a small, agile marketing team and work closely with the Marketing Manager, internal stakeholders, and creative leads to bring ambitious concepts to life across digital channels — with occasional print needs for events and collateral.


What You’ll Do

Branding & Visual Identity

  • Lead the creation and refinement of visual identities for several new and emerging brands across the organization.

  • Develop brand systems, design libraries, and guidelines that ensure consistency across touchpoints.

  • Use rapid ideation workflows (including AI-powered tools) to explore directions, prototype options, and align stakeholders quickly.

Digital & Motion Design

  • Produce a wide range of digital assets including campaign visuals, social content, landing pages, presentation decks, email graphics, and display banners.

  • Create short-form motion assets, logo animations, and dynamic visuals for social, product explainers, and brand storytelling.

  • Experiment with AI, 3D concepts, and motion tools to efficiently scale content output.

Cross-Brand Creative Execution

You’ll work across multiple brands, such as:

  • A health-tech B2B brand needing refreshed motion assets, evolving visual language, and more efficient production of video and 3D-inspired content.

  • A luxury travel brand needing fresh creative thinking and the development a distinct, premium visual identity.

  • A consumer brand with an existing foundation that needs thoughtful refinement and ongoing creative support.

  • Additional businesses requiring brand refreshes, new asset development, and high-volume day-to-day creative execution.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal partners to interpret feedback, understand strategic goals, and translate ideas into compelling visual solutions.

  • Present work confidently, explain design decisions, and iterate quickly in response to direct feedback.

  • Conduct light market research to understand trends, competitor creative, and emerging visual directions.


What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in a startup, fintech, or creative agency, with comfort operating in lean teams and fast-paced environments.

  • Expert-level skills in Adobe Creative Suite, digital and AI tools.

  • Familiarity and enthusiasm for AI-based creative workflows (ideation, prototyping, motion, video, layout generation).

  • Ability to move between high-level conceptual thinking and efficient hands-on execution.

  • Strength in visual storytelling, typography, layout, animation, and brand systems.

  • Strong attention to detail, especially when applying evolving brand standards across channels.

  • A proactive mindset and the ability to juggle multiple projects and brands at once.

  • Excellent communication skills and comfort presenting creative work to stakeholders.
