Location: Hybrid (1–2 days/week onsite, downtown Toronto)
About the Role
Our leading financial client is seeking a UX/UI Designer to support the design and optimization of digital forms and customer-facing documentation experiences. This role focuses on creating intuitive, accessible, and enterprise-aligned layouts for both interactive eForms and dynamically generated PDF outputs.
The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, comfortable working within established design systems, and experienced in translating complex business requirements into clear, user-friendly experiences across bilingual (English/French) environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Prototyping
UI Design

Design intuitive, user-friendly form layouts optimized for completion efficiency

Define field layouts, spacing, labels, error states, and contextual help text

Ensure consistency across form experiences while accommodating varying business use cases
PDF Output Design

Design customer- and employee-facing PDF documents generated from digital forms
-
Establish typography, hierarchy, spacing, and visual structure
-
Ensure outputs are readable, printable, and accessible
Templates, Use Cases & Variations

Create and maintain master templates for forms and PDFs
-
Design variations based on business rules, data conditions, and operational needs

Document design logic to support efficient development and reuse
Standards & Branding
Enterprise Design Alignment

Ensure designs align with enterprise design libraries and brand standards

Apply visual guidelines consistently across digital forms and documents

Identify gaps in existing standards and propose enhancements
Design Standards Maintenance

Create or update design standards to support new use cases

Document best practices for form layout, document structure, and accessibility

Promote consistency across teams and initiatives
Collaboration & Usability
Stakeholder Collaboration

Partner with business stakeholders and analysts to translate requirements into effective design solutions

Validate design decisions against documented business and regulatory needs
User Journey & Usability Integration

Incorporate user journey insights into form and document design

Apply usability feedback to improve clarity, efficiency, and completion rates

Balance user experience with compliance and operational constraints
Developer Collaboration

Work closely with development teams to ensure designs are technically feasible

Adjust designs to align with platform capabilities and limitations

Support implementation by clarifying design intent and interaction behaviour
Accessibility & Quality

Design forms and PDFs to meet accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG)

Ensure proper contrast, focus order, labeling, and screen-reader compatibility

Design with scalability in mind to support future expansion of form and document libraries

Encourage reuse of components, layouts, and patterns across experiences
Qualifications
-
5+ years of experience in UX/UI design, ideally within enterprise or regulated environments

Strong experience designing complex forms, structured layouts, and document outputs

Familiarity with design systems and working within brand governance

Strong collaboration skills across business, design, and technical teams

Bilingual in English and French (required)

Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design best practices

Background in financial services, insurance, or other highly regulated industries
