Web Developer (WordPress) – Contract
Rate: $50–$60/hour
Location: Remote / Hybrid
Duration: Project-based (hours to be estimated post client meeting)
Overview
We’re partnering with a small, creative agency that has recently won a new client and is kicking off a full rebrand, including the build of a brand-new website. The current site is outdated, and the goal is to deliver a modern, visually engaging, and high-performing digital experience.
They’re looking for a Web Developer to build the site from scratch, translating provided creative into a clean, functional, and scalable build.
Project Scope

Build a brand-new website (approx. 8–12 pages) from the ground up

Primarily content-driven, with additional functionality including:

Booking page
-
Intake form
-
Mailchimp integration
-

Develop a modern, polished front-end experience (e.g., video hero on homepage, smooth interactions)

Ensure responsiveness, performance, and usability across devices
All creative assets will be provided, including:

Copy
-
Visual design
-
Photography
-
High-fidelity wireframes
Responsibilities
-
Translate high-fidelity designs into a fully functional website
-
Recommend and implement the most suitable CMS (WordPress preferred, but open to alternatives based on expertise)

Develop clean, scalable, and maintainable code
-
Integrate third-party tools (e.g., Mailchimp, booking tools, forms)
-
Optimize site performance, speed, and SEO fundamentals
-
Collaborate with the agency team to ensure accurate execution of the vision

Provide an estimate of hours and timeline following initial client discussions
Qualifications

Proven experience building websites from scratch (portfolio required)

Strong experience with WordPress (or alternative CMS with clear rationale)

Ability to work from high-fidelity designs with strong attention to detail

Experience integrating forms, booking systems, and email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp)

Solid understanding of responsive design, performance optimization, and best practices

Strong communication skills and ability to work with a collaborative, fast-moving team
Nice to Have

Experience working with agencies or on brand/rebrand projects

Eye for design and UX (beyond pure development)

Experience implementing motion or video elements (e.g., hero video)
