Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Email Marketing Manager to join our tech client on a full-time 2-3 month contract, with the potential to become a permanent full-time hire if the fit is right. This is a great opportunity to oversee and optimize our client’s email campaigns, lifecycle journeys, and CRM strategies. You will use Customer.io to design and manage automated workflows, segment audiences, and track performance. This role is perfect for a data-driven marketer who thrives on creating impactful email experiences tailored to customer behaviours and preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, create, and execute email marketing campaigns, including newsletters, product updates, promotional offers, and transactional messages.
  • Build, manage, and optimize lifecycle marketing workflows in Customer.io, such as welcome series, re-engagement, and upsell campaigns.
  • Develop and refine customer segmentation strategies to deliver personalized and targeted communications.
  • Conduct A/B tests to optimize subject lines, content, calls-to-action, and send times for improved performance.
  • Monitor campaign metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and unsubscribe rates. Provide detailed reporting and actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align CRM strategies with business goals and customer journeys.
  • Ensure email campaigns comply with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM) and follow email marketing best practices.
  • Stay updated on email marketing trends and innovations, leveraging new tools and strategies to enhance campaign effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of email marketing experience, with a focus on CRM and lifecycle marketing.
  • Hands-on experience designing and executing campaigns and workflows within Customer.io, or another similar platform, is required.
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS for email template design and troubleshooting.
  • Strong ability to analyze campaign performance and turn data into actionable strategies.
  • Familiarity with additional CRM or marketing automation tools is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience working across teams (e.g., product, design, and sales).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
