Position Overview:
We are seeking a Director of Marketing & Communications with experience in the asset management products space. This is a full-time, permanent, remote role. The client is based in Vancouver but open to Toronto-based candidates, so long as you can work on PT hours. in Toronto. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy to enhance the firm’s brand, employer brand, and support digital marketing efforts. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in asset management products, while being a thought leader in digital marketing. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing a lean marketing team, optimizing digital and traditional marketing channels, and collaborating across departments in both a strategic and tactical manner. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a cohesive marketing strategy that aligns with the firm’s business goals, focusing on brand positioning, advisor relations, and employer brand advocacy. 

  • Brand Management: Oversee the development and consistent application of the firm’s brand across all marketing materials, ensuring a strong, unified brand identity.

  • Digital Marketing: Lead digital marketing initiatives, including website management, SEO/SEM, email marketing, social media, and content marketing, to increase online visibility.

  • Content Development: Create and manage a content strategy that highlights the firm’s expertise in asset management, including thought leadership articles, white papers, newsletters, and other collateral.

  • Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitive positioning, and opportunities for growth, and adjust marketing strategies accordingly.

  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing, lean marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximize ROI.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with advisors and leadership to ensure marketing efforts support and enhance business development and investor retention efforts.

Analytics & Reporting: Utilize data-driven insights to track the performance of marketing initiatives and provide regular reporting to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.

  • Experience: Minimum of 6-8 years of marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a people management role within the asset management or financial services industry.

  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of financial products, investment strategies, and the asset management landscape.

  • Digital Skills: Proficient in digital marketing tools and platforms, including CRM, social media, analytics, and content management systems.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop a marketing team, with strong project management skills and a results-oriented mindset.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
