Position Overview: 
We are seeking a talented Freelance Motion Designer to support our client’s design team on a project basis, working ad hoc & part-time hours for the next 2 years (remote). This is a great opportunity if you are a permanent freelancer. The role involves creating simple yet effective motion graphics to elevate our client’s digital campaigns, primarily focusing on 2D animation and leveraging existing assets. You will work on a variety of digital projects, including social media content, email marketing visuals, and banner ads. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create eye-catching motion graphics for social media platforms, primarily focused on 2D animation.
  • Animate text, images, and simple assets for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social channels.
  • Leverage existing brand assets and templates to maintain consistency across campaigns.
  • Design and animate motion graphics for email marketing campaigns, adding dynamic elements such as animated headers, GIFs, and small video clips.
  • Ensure that animations align with email guidelines and are optimized for a smooth user experience across devices.
  • Develop animated banner ads for digital marketing campaigns, focusing on text animation and simple motion to capture attention.
  • Incorporate stock footage or existing assets to bring the banners to life while maintaining visual consistency with the brand’s identity.
  • Work efficiently with existing creative assets, repurposing them to meet project goals and campaign requirements.
  • Edit stock footage, images, and other provided materials to create seamless animations that enhance overall design.
  • Communicate effectively with the creative and marketing teams to understand project briefs and ensure deliverables meet specifications.
  • Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines, ensuring all animations are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years proven experience as a motion designer or animator, with a strong portfolio demonstrating 2D animation skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Ability to animate text, add motion to images, and edit stock video for use in digital marketing assets.
  • Experience creating motion graphics for social media, email marketing, and banner ads.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, branding, and digital content creation.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
