Senior Director, Brand Marketing

Positive Overview:
We’re seeking a Senior Director of Brand Marketing to join out automotive client on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fully remote role and you can be based anywhere in Canada, working EST hours. You will be responsible for developing and executing a cohesive brand strategy that strengthens our client’s market presence and deepens customer engagement. You’ll oversee storytelling efforts across video, social media, web, PR, and other digital and traditional channels, ensuring a consistent and impactful brand voice.
This role requires a balance of strategic thinking, creative leadership, and hands-on execution, working closely with internal teams, creative freelancers , and executive leadership to shape the brand’s narrative and drive measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Storytelling
- Develop and implement a comprehensive brand strategy that enhances brand equity and awareness.
- Lead brand storytelling efforts across video, social media, web, PR, and experiential channels.
- Ensure a consistent brand voice, tone, and visual identity across all customer touchpoints.
- Translate company values, mission, and business objectives into compelling brand narratives.
- Oversee brand campaigns that resonate with target audiences and differentiate the company in the market.
Content & Communications Leadership
- Lead the development of high-impact video content, social media campaigns, and digital storytelling.
- Oversee the creation of thought leadership content, executive communications, and PR efforts.
- Partner with creative team members and freelancers to ensure content aligns with brand positioning and marketing goals.
- Collaborate with marketing, leadership and sales teams to align messaging across the customer journey.
Social Media & Digital Strategy
- Oversee social media content strategy, ensuring engagement, community growth, and storytelling consistency.
- Identify emerging digital and social trends, leveraging new platforms and formats to amplify brand messaging.
- Work with analytics teams to measure content performance and optimize strategies based on insights.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead and mentor a team of brand, content, and communications professionals, with two direct reports.
- Manage relationships with content creators to extend brand reach.
- Oversee budgets and timelines.
Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in brand strategy, communications, or marketing.
- Proven expertise in storytelling across video, social media, and digital platforms.
- Strong background in brand development, content marketing, and strategic messaging.
- Experience leading creative teams, agencies, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Deep understanding of social media trends, audience engagement, and digital best practices.
- Exceptional writing, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience in measuring brand impact and optimizing content strategies based on performance data.
- Background in Journalism, PR, Comms, Brand Experience, or a related field required.
