Position Overview:
We are seeking a creative and talented Social Media Specialist to join our client’s dynamic team and help elevate their social media presence through compelling content creation. If you have a passion for hospitality, public space, travel, and the like, we want to hear from you. This is a permanent position that will require approx. 3 days/week of shooting in Toronto’s financial district. The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for developing, curating, and managing engaging content across our client’s social media platforms, with a focus on Instagram and TikTok. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in content creation, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of social media trends and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and produce high-quality and engaging content for social media channels including text, images, videos, and graphics.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Manager on influencer strategies and collaborations, as well as community events. 
  • Write compelling captions, headlines, and copy that drive engagement and interaction.
  • Manage and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting across all platforms.
  • Monitor social media channels for trends, feedback, and opportunities to engage with our audience.
  • Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work with various business stakeholders (ex. retailers, restaurants, galleries, etc.) to ensure alignment on content. 
  • Conduct research to identify new trends, topics, and opportunities for content creation.
  • Track and analyze the performance of social media content and campaigns using analytics tools.
  • Provide regular reports on key metrics, insights, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Foster and grow our client’s online community by engaging with followers, influencers, and industry partners.
  • Identify and engage with brand advocates and potential influencers to expand our client’s reach.
  • Ensure all content is consistent with the brand’s voice, style, and messaging guidelines
  • Maintain a high standard of quality and creativity across all social media channels.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in social media content creation and management.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful social media campaigns.
  • Strong video and photography skills.
  • Proficiency in using social media platforms, specifically Instagram Reels and TikTok. 
  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and content creation.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow.
