Job Title: Contract UX Designer (E-commerce Website Overhaul)
Contract Duration: Estimated 4-6 Weeks
Location: Remote (Flexible)

Project Overview:

We are seeking a Contract Senior UX Designer to lead the redesign of our client’s e-commerce website with a focus on increasing conversions, improving accessibility, and enhancing brand perception. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in e-commerce UX best practices, optimizing mobile-first shopping experiences, and creating engaging, seamless customer journeys.

Key Objectives:

  • Increase conversions through optimized design, improved user flows, and intuitive navigation.

  • Enhance brand perception by refining visual storytelling and design elements.

  • Improve accessibility to meet standard compliance and provide an inclusive user experience.

  • Optimize key KPIs, including conversion rate, average order value, add-to-cart rates, configurator entries, bounce rate, and time on site.

  • Ensure a seamless mobile-first shopping experience (90% of customers purchase via mobile).

  • Implement interactive features such as photo upload and engraving preview.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct UX research, reviewing analytics data and updating existing user personas to identify areas for improvement.

  • Create user flows, wireframes, and prototypes tailored to our audience (predominantly female gift shoppers).

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate branding guidelines, typography, and color schemes.

  • Design an intuitive mobile-first e-commerce experience optimized for seamless checkout.

  • Ensure compatibility with Magento eCommerce platform.

  • Work closely with developers to ensure designs are feasible and align with technical requirements.

  • Provide insights on best practices for accessibility and UX compliance.

  • Conduct usability testing and iterate based on findings.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of UX design experience, with a focus on e-commerce.

  • Proven experience optimizing conversion rates and user engagement.

  • Strong proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, or other UX design tools.

  • Experience working with Magento and e-commerce platforms.

  • Understanding of accessibility best practices.

  • Ability to analyze user data, heatmaps, and behavioral analytics.

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and developers.

Nice to Have:

  • Background in gift retail or personalized products.

  • Knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS) to ensure design feasibility.
