Freelance French Translator/Proofreader (Ad Hoc, Remote, 2-Year Engagement)

We’re looking for a skilled French translator and proofreader to join our client’s freelance pool for a 2-year, ad hoc engagement. You’ll support a variety of internal and external communications, ensuring high-quality French translations that are culturally and linguistically appropriate for the French-Canadian market.

What You’ll Do

  • Translate and/or proofread a wide range of materials, including:

    • HR documents

    • Contest rules

    • Press releases

    • Consumer surveys

    • Radio and video scripts

  • Ensure consistency in tone, clarity, and brand voice across all communications

  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet quality standards and timelines

  • Interpret and adapt English-language content with cultural nuance and precision

What We’re Looking For

  • Native French speaker; French-Canadian strongly preferred

  • Strong ability to adapt English content for a French-Canadian audience

  • Deep understanding of regional language and cultural nuances

  • Experience with CAT tools (e.g., Phrase) is a plus, but not required

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to brand guidelines and consistency
