UX/UI Designer (1-Year Contract | Financial Services)

Location: Toronto (Hybrid – approx. 8 days/month onsite or as approved by the client)
Duration: 1 Year Contract, Strong Likelihood to Convert to Full-Time
 


About the Role

Our client, a highly reputable leader in the financial services industry, is seeking a UX/UI Designer to join their growing design team. This new role has been created due to an increase in project volume and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to multiple digital properties, delivering seamless, accessible, and engaging experiences. 

The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing and unifying the user experience across several major platforms – including our client’s AEM environment, the main corporate website, internal onboarding tools for advisors, and all line-of-business (LOB) sites. 

You’ll join a collaborative, cross-functional team working in a fast-paced environment that values precision, clean design, and strong UX thinking. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a highly respected brand and a team that encourages innovation, growth, and long-term career potential.


What You’ll Do

  • Design and deliver end-to-end UX/UI solutions across multiple digital platforms.

  • Translate business goals and user needs into intuitive, accessible, and engaging digital experiences.

  • Work within and across multiple design systems. 

  • Create wireframes, user journeys, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that clearly communicate the design process and rationale.

  • Collaborate with content, marketing, and development teams to implement designs effectively.

  • Support front-end implementation by assisting with basic HTML/CSS coding for campaigns, contests, and website updates (no Java required).

  • Ensure all digital deliverables meet AODA accessibility standards and reflect best practices in inclusive design.

  • Manage multiple deliverables and priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Communicate clearly with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones. 


What You Bring

  • 5–8+ years of experience as a UX/UI Designer working across complex, multi-site digital ecosystems.

  • Proven ability to balance UX thinking with clean, modern visual design.

  • Strong understanding of design systems and experience applying them across multiple platforms.

  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.

  • Working knowledge of AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) is a strong asset.

  • Experience collaborating closely with developers; comfortable assisting with HTML/CSS as needed.

  • Demonstrated understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and international teams.
