Video Editor

We are searching for a Video Editor to join our agency client full time! Our client is an award winning US based agency who is expanding here in Toronto. As one of the first two hires, you will be responsible for supporting one of their new clients here in TO as well as their US business.
Overview:
As the Video Editor, you will play a role in crafting culture forward, comedic videos for diverse campaigns. You’ll collaborate closely with Directors, Producers and Creative Teams to deliver polished, high-energy content that resonates with various audiences. Your editing skills will bring humour to life while maintaining a strong sense of timing, pacing and narrative structure.
Responsibilities:
- Ingests and organizes all footage for use in videos
- Provides invaluable creative input from kickoff on al initial scripts and throughout the post-production process
- Responsible for building final produced assets to spec
- Deliver some motion graphic and animated design work across client, internal, and new business requests including film titles
- Screen all cuts, versions, etc. through the approval process with producers and creative team
- Addresses all agency and/or client feedback in a timely and professional manner
- Archives all footage at the wrap of each job
- Maintains all edit equipment, troubleshoots problems, and actively facilitates repairs
- Be an expert on emerging technology trends and tools such as post production centred AI platforms
- Own any other duties/responsibilities assigned by supervisor
- Some travel could be required for in-person edit and/or on set editing
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of video editing experience, with a portfolio demonstrating a range of deliverables including social, digital, broadcast, sizzle reels and case studies
- Agency experience is highly preferred – familiarity with client-driven workflows and collaborative project environments
- Proficient working with Adobe Creative Suite, Avid and ProTools
- General knowledge of Lumetri colour space (Da Vinci)
- Solid understanding of pacing, timing, and rhythm, particularly for comedic content
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a creative team setting
- A portfolio or reel to demonstrate your work
