Web Developer (WordPress) – Contract

Rate: $50–$60/hour
Location: Remote / Hybrid
Duration: Project-based (hours to be estimated post client meeting)

Overview

We’re partnering with a small, creative agency that has recently won a new client and is kicking off a full rebrand, including the build of a brand-new website. The current site is outdated, and the goal is to deliver a modern, visually engaging, and high-performing digital experience.

They’re looking for a Web Developer to build the site from scratch, translating provided creative into a clean, functional, and scalable build.

Project Scope

  • Build a brand-new website (approx. 8–12 pages) from the ground up

  • Primarily content-driven, with additional functionality including:

    • Booking page

    • Intake form

    • Mailchimp integration

  • Develop a modern, polished front-end experience (e.g., video hero on homepage, smooth interactions)

  • Ensure responsiveness, performance, and usability across devices

All creative assets will be provided, including:

  • Copy

  • Visual design

  • Photography

  • High-fidelity wireframes

Responsibilities

  • Translate high-fidelity designs into a fully functional website

  • Recommend and implement the most suitable CMS (WordPress preferred, but open to alternatives based on expertise)

  • Develop clean, scalable, and maintainable code

  • Integrate third-party tools (e.g., Mailchimp, booking tools, forms)

  • Optimize site performance, speed, and SEO fundamentals

  • Collaborate with the agency team to ensure accurate execution of the vision

  • Provide an estimate of hours and timeline following initial client discussions

Qualifications

  • Proven experience building websites from scratch (portfolio required)

  • Strong experience with WordPress (or alternative CMS with clear rationale)

  • Ability to work from high-fidelity designs with strong attention to detail

  • Experience integrating forms, booking systems, and email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp)

  • Solid understanding of responsive design, performance optimization, and best practices

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with a collaborative, fast-moving team

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with agencies or on brand/rebrand projects

  • Eye for design and UX (beyond pure development)

  • Experience implementing motion or video elements (e.g., hero video)

Additional Notes

  • Candidates will be asked to provide an estimated number of hours and timeline after meeting with the client

  • Flexibility in CMS is welcomed, but the solution should prioritize ease of use and scalability for the end client
